Practical Help in Times of Need

As the sole breadwinner of a family with five young children, I’m always struggling to make ends meet. I’m constantly thinking of ways to provide for their meals and other needs like stationery, school bags, shoes, etc. Toys and family outings were unheard of as we simply can’t afford them.

I remember the time when I lost my job. The milk powder had finished and our electricity PAYU was left with less than $2. How am I going to feed my young children? It was an overwhelming time. I decided to make and sell epok, jelly and cakes to make a living. RCS got to know of my situation and blessed me with a groceries and milk powder. The volunteers also bought my epok to support my business.

I’m grateful that I had the opportunity to be connected to RCS back in 2022. Because of their support, I am less stressed about finances. We have been blessed with food, toiletries and they even helped to source for appliances when mine broke down. We were not able to afford family outings but thanks to the events organised by RCS, we had the opportunity to visit places like Jurong Bird Park and create precious memories as a family.

The volunteers at RCS are really friendly and helpful. My kids always look forward to meeting the volunteers every week as they are genuine in their interactions with us. We have never felt looked down upon. Thank you, RCS, volunteers and sponsors, we have been blessed by you.
